The ability to accommodate these circumstances is an important requirement of the position.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Insurance Talent Acquisition and Business Development Consultant to join an expanding recruitment business specialising in the Australian market.

We are seeking a recruitment professional who combines strong insurance industry recruitment knowledge with proven experience managing both business development and candidate recruitment activities.

This is a complete 360° recruitment position requiring the successful candidate to manage relationships across both sides of the recruitment process.

You will work directly with clients to understand their recruitment needs while proactively identifying, attracting and engaging qualified insurance professionals.

Alongside candidate recruitment, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the recruitment business.

The position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working autonomously, building professional networks and achieving measurable recruitment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the entire 360° recruitment process from initial business development and client engagement through to candidate placement and post placement relationship management.

• Build, develop and maintain productive relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Engage with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their hiring needs, workplace culture and preferred candidate profiles.

• Source qualified insurance professionals through LinkedIn, recruitment platforms, job boards, candidate databases and direct headhunting.

• Conduct candidate interviews and screening discussions to assess experience, suitability, communication skills, career motivations and cultural fit.

• Identify and recommend suitable candidates to clients through well prepared shortlists and clear professional recommendations.

• Introduce relevant employment opportunities to candidates and provide informed advice regarding career progression and available options.

• Organise interviews and maintain effective communication between clients and candidates throughout the recruitment process.

• Manage candidate and client feedback, employment offers, negotiations and onboarding arrangements.

• Proactively identify prospective clients and develop new recruitment business opportunities.

• Work towards agreed recruitment, placement and business development targets.

• Ensure client and candidate information is accurately recorded and maintained within the recruitment system.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated success in a 360° recruitment role involving both client relationship management and candidate recruitment.

• Specific recruitment experience within the insurance sector.

• Strong client facing experience and the confidence to establish and manage professional relationships.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Proven candidate sourcing, interviewing and assessment capabilities.

• Commercial awareness, resilience and a results driven approach to recruitment.

• Ability to manage responsibilities independently while consistently working towards performance targets.

• Commitment to working Australian business hours on an ongoing basis.

• Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to accommodate candidates, including doctors and other professionals who may only be available after standard working hours.

• Demonstrated ability to develop strong candidate relationships and provide credible career advice and employment options.

• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

• Confidence learning new systems, processes and complex industry information.

• Previous experience with JobAdder would be beneficial.

International Recruitment Background

Previous experience recruiting across international markets is highly desirable.

Candidates who have supported recruitment activities across different countries and time zones will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

The successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of the commitment required to work outside traditional South African business hours and must be genuinely comfortable maintaining Australian working hours consistently.

Who Will Succeed in This Position?

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded recruitment professional who enjoys balancing candidate engagement with client relationship development.

The successful candidate will be confident, resilient and personable with the ability to build trust quickly and communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals.

You should be comfortable managing recruitment conversations, influencing decisions, negotiating outcomes and identifying opportunities for business growth.

While the number of years of recruitment experience is not the primary consideration, previous 360° recruitment experience combined with insurance recruitment expertise is essential.

A strong cultural fit, professional communication style, commercial mindset and the ability to represent the business confidently will be key factors in the selection process.
